The prices for these cool trucks are $60,990, $79,990, and $99,990. That’s a lot of money! A person who studies these things, Daniel Ives, thinks the prices are about what he expected.
He says, “Launching Cybertruck is important for the broader Tesla growth story over the coming years.” In simpler words, he thinks this new truck will help Tesla grow and show people that Tesla is really good at making electric cars.
Even though the Cybertruck might not make Tesla tons of money right away, it shows that Tesla is still ahead of other companies when it comes to making cool and innovative cars.
Some people think Tesla will make around 2,000 to 3,000 Cybertrucks in the next few months. Another person, Gene Munster, says the price of the Cybertruck is a bit higher than he thought. But he thinks it’s okay because Tesla can’t make a lot of these trucks yet. He believes that in a few years, when Tesla can make more trucks, the price might go down.
Munster also thinks the Cybertruck will become a popular car for Tesla. He says, “I think that Cybertruck still has the ability long-term to be an important part of Tesla’s lineup.”
The first Cybertruck deliveries are happening about four years after Tesla first showed the world the idea of an electric pickup truck. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, knows there will be challenges in making a lot of these trucks. But he believes the Cybertruck could be one of Tesla’s best products ever.
Tesla wants to make 200,000 Cybertrucks every year. Musk also says that Tesla plans to deliver about 1.8 million cars of different types this year.
In the last few months, Tesla made a lot of different cars, like the Model S, X, 3, and Y. They made around 430,500 of these cars and delivered about 435,000. Overall, in the past year, Tesla made and delivered over a million cars, which is a big increase from the year before.
