(Cupventi.com) – On Friday night, a residence in a West Milford, New Jersey neighborhood experienced a destructive explosion while six individuals were present, as reported by the local police.
The incident took place at approximately 9 p.m. on Banker Road. In an official statement, the West Milford Police detailed their swift response to the scene, discovering a severely damaged house resulting from the explosion.
As a result of the blast, five individuals were airlifted to nearby hospitals, while one person declined further medical assistance. Rich Poplaski, West Milford’s PIO/Deputy Fire Chief, informed NorthJersey.com that the cause of this catastrophic event remains undetermined. He urged local residents to steer clear of Banker Road as emergency response teams diligently worked at the site.
The investigation into the explosion is being led by the West Milford Detective Bureau, in collaboration with West Milford Fire Marshals and New Jersey’s Fire Marshal’s Office. Residents in the vicinity revealed to CBS New York that they heard a loud and startling noise.
