(Cupventi.com) – In an incident reported by the Bexar County authorities, a resident of Texas, Kelly Max Oshaughnessy, aged 33, has been apprehended following an incident in which his unleashed dog viciously attacked a 68-year-old man on Saturday.
Oshaughnessy faces charges of serious bodily injury to an elderly individual and the accusation of owning a dangerous dog. Subsequently, the authorities have taken custody of his dog for a mandatory 10-day quarantine period.
The incident unfolded at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, as reported by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. They received a distress call indicating that a man was under attack by a loose dog upon returning from his morning walk.
According to a Facebook post by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor who heard the commotion rushed outside to provide assistance. He successfully intervened, preventing the dog from inflicting further harm on the victim. The 68-year-old man, who had previously encountered the aggressive dog, was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical attention.
Police reported that the victim sustained multiple puncture wounds to his legs, groin area, and head, highlighting the severity of the attack. During questioning, Kelly Oshaughnessy acknowledged that there had been previous incidents in which his dog had caused harm to neighbors.
“Kelly stated that he has been informed by several neighbors about his dog causing them harm, although nothing of this magnitude has occurred before,” the police stated.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has launched an active investigation into the incident, and no further details are currently available.
